I Heart Cinci

So last weekend, Ben’s brother Niko and his fiancĂ©e Kate had a wedding shower in Cincinnati. I’ve been to Cincinnati quite a few times, between Red’s games with my dad and random trips. And I have to be honest (Cinci people please don’t hate me for saying this) but every time I went it was always kind of dingy and cloudy and I didn’t have the best impression.

But this weekend was so beautiful and I kind of fell in love. It’s actually really freakin’ cute. Plus, there’s just something about being so close to home that just made everything feel familiar. The muggy weather, Kroger’s on every corner, the friendly people. I felt like myself again.

We started out Saturday with Cajun food from Allyn’s (AMAZING btw) and a pedal wagon. The pedal wagon was seriously SO fun. We stopped at a few bars – Arnold’s & Taft’s Ale House (which reminded me so much of the Restoration Hardware in Chicago). The beer was flowin’, the music was blarin’ and my cheeks hurt from laughing.

Beer of choice: Cinci’s own Rhinegeist. Also visited the brewery later in the evening and they opened a rooftop andddd it’s amazing.

Sunday was the shower day and we went to Lake Isabela Park. It was gorgeous. And sooo nice to be in some nature.

We ended the night with dinner at Morelein on the river and took a little jaunt.

And obviously we can’t go to Cinci and not get Graeter’s.

Monday we started our day off at Cheapside for breakfast. They had a breakfast sandwich with pimento cheese and my southern heart was so happy.

Then we explored Over-the-Rhine which is so freakin’ cute.

Honestly I could have stayed a few more days just to try all the food and shop.

So tell me… have you been to Cinci? Do you love it? Or are you from there and have some tips for my next visit in June? Tell me everything! I’ll be back soon… I’m thinking Saturday I may finally reveal my newly decorated apartment! Stay tuned. Xo.
